“No man is an island, entire of itself”

Health and wellness cannot exist in a single dwelling if the rest of the village is dying. The community’s health is dependent on the collective support and efforts of its individuals.

”And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person's need was met…every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God.” (The Message, Acts 2:44-47)

It is clear, in addition to proper nutrition and exercise; wellness requires one to live in harmony with others; to love and to be loved by a village; every member of every age being a necessary and valued contribution to the whole. Everyone nourishes everyone, through the basic variables for health: food, exercise, and yes, love! We have never had a timelier message to learn.

Three principles

It is the way we grow, eat, and share food that cures obesity and world hunger, as well as curbing greenhouse gases. It is the way we see exercise. No longer is it a necessary chore, it is reclaimed as the beautiful physical healing gift it was intended to be. We at Wellplanet invite you to live the simplest most concise, eco-fitness challenge ever created for personal health, health of your village, and the planet. We invite you to care for yourself to better care for others! God’s Peace be with you.

  1. Eat five fresh fruits and vegetables a day, or more.
    (Preferably local, seasonal, organic).
  2. Exercise thirty minutes a day, or more.
  3. Prayer and Meditation focused on personal and global health for all.

Eat

Fruit and veggies

If you concentrate on eating real, whole, and healthy foods first, there is less room for processed empty calories, refined sugars, and cheap meats (base your diet on a 2000 calorie diet). Whole unprocessed foods in their most natural state are how nutrition was intended by the creator who provided for us. Antioxidants, dietary fiber, and other nutrients are removed when whole foods are over processed. Trusting the creator, by eating foods in the most natural state, helps us navigate through the fast food and diet industry madness we currently living in.

Exercise

Softbal

The more you exercise, the more efficient all the systems of the body work. Exercise is the single most effective preventative action you can take against the current epidemics of heart disease, obesity, hypertension, type II diabetes, osteoporosis, loss of muscle mass (Sarcopenia), ADD, arthritis, and depression. Exercise has also been linked to improving hundreds of other conditions of the body, including reducing risks of most cancers and Alzheimer’s disease. Truly, our creator intended for us to be physical creations. Personal efforts to staying fit is an expression of love for others by allowing you to serve longer and stronger, while reducing your dependency on healthcare dollars.

Prayer/Meditation

Silence allows God’s still small voice to be heard through the day's distractions. No cell phones, iPods, televisions, video games, or computers; only simple moments of quiet meditation or contemplative prayer. When we stop the chatter, let go of the anxiety of exercise performance, and reconnect to our creator; we are integrating meditation with exercise. This allows us to exercise in the moment, forgetting the discomfort of the body. All that is left is mindful breathing and a thankful heart that is praising God for the healing gift of exercise.
